Boys Sports wins the NWOAL All-Sports Championship – Girls finish 2nd

Despite the loss of the spring sports season to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Wauseon boys sports teams have claimed the NWOAL All-Sports Championship for the 2019-20 school year.  The varsity boys sports built up a sizeable lead heading into the spring led by the Wrestling league championship and runner-up finishes from Golf, Cross Country, Soccer, and

Two Cross Country runners heading to State

Two Wauseon Cross Country runners have advanced to the OHSAA State Cross Country meet based on their performances at the Regional races in Tiffin.   Grace Rhoades ’23 qualified for the D-II Girls race by finishing 9th out of 95 runners with a time of 19:05.95.  Braden Vernot ’21 qualified for the D-II Boys race

All-NWOAL Boys Cross Country

5 members of the boys cross country team earned All-NWOAL for the 2019 season at the league meet at Bryan.  Highlighting the list is Braden Vernot ’21, as he was the NWOAL Champion with a winning time of 16:02!  Joining Braden on the 1st team is Hunter Wasnich ’22 and Jack Callan ’23.  Aidan Pena ’23 earned 2nd team honors while Carter Nofziger ’22 was Honorable

Girls & Boys Cross Country Teams each win the O-G Invite

Both the girls and boys cross country teams claimed the title at the Ottawa-Glandorf Blue/Gold Invitational.  The teams competed in the Blue division (larger schools). The girls scored 72 points to claim the win followed by Archbold (82) and Van Wert (123).  Leading the way individually for the Indians were Grace Rhoades (8th), Maggie Duden
