The Wauseon Girls Cross Country punched their ticket to the State Meet on November 7th with their fourth place finish at Regionals. This will be the teams first trip to the State meet since 2014.
The girls were led by Grace Rhoades who was an individual state qualifier placing 10th. Following Grace was Maggie Duden who placed 21st. Maggie was a stabilizing force this past week in practice. She really made sure the girls knew what was at stake and led from there. Serena Mathews placed 36th and Alona Mahnke placed 41st. Both of those young ladies really ran incredibly gutsy or scrappy races. They really stepped up and showed their inner competitor. Natalie Kuntz was 69th and also stepped up to replace Natasha Miller this past week.
The Indians look forward to having running this weekend and putting together a complete team race.
