The Wauseon girls basketball team claimed a share of the 2019-20 NWOAL Basketball Championship. The team finished the regular season with a record of 18-4 and 5-2 in the NWOAL. There was a 3-way tie for the championship as Archbold and Bryan each finished 5-2 in the league as well. The league was extremely competitive this season as all 8 schools finished the regular season with a double digit number of wins.
This is the 10th girls basketball title in school history and the first since 2010. PREVIOUS TITLES Of the 10 NWOAL titles, the trophy was shared 4 times. In 2004 it was shared with Archbold. In 1999 Montpelier grabbed a share and in 1996 the Bluestreaks earned a co-championship. This is the 2nd time in NWOAL history that more than two teams shared the championship. In 1985 Archbold, Bryan, Liberty Center, and Swanton all finished 6-2 in the league to claim the crown.
