Wauseon Senior Kyle Vernot finished his Wauseon running career with a 5th place finish in the 1600 meter run at the State track meet in Columbus. Kyle’s time of 4:20.83 was the 3rd fastest in school history. His teammate, Junior Josh Lowry, also placed earning a 7th place medal in the 3200 meter run. His time of 9:41.76 is the 4th fastest 3200 time in WHS history.
This is only the 2nd time in school history that more than one Wauseon runner (non field events) placed at the State track meet in the same year. The other time was 1998 when Ryan Huber placed in both the 800 meter run (State Champion) and the 110 meter hurdles (3rd place).
