Multiple Teams · STATE CHAMPIONS – 2018 TEAM DUALS WRESTLING


Sunday, February 11, 2018 the Wauseon Indian wrestling team claimed the OHSAA Division II Team Duals State Championship by defeating Lake Catholic, 48-12 at St. John Arena on the campus of the Ohio State University.  The win capped off an exciting day of wrestling as Wauseon defeated Miami Trace in the quarterfinals, 72-3, and then beat Canfield 38-33 in the Semifinals.  Congratulations to Coach Mike Ritter, his assistants, our athletes, and their managers on an outstanding accomplishment.

This championship is the 4th State title in Wauseon High School history. Previous championships were won by the 1997 Girls Basketball team, the 1995 Baseball team, and the 1994 Football team.
