All-NWOAL Softball

6 members of the softball team earned All-NWOAL honors for the 2021 season.  Highlighting the list are Macee Schang ’21, and Payton Albright ’21 as they were named to the 1st team!  Earning 2nd team honors was Chelsie Raabe ’21.  Jayli Vasquez ’22, Jettie Burget ’21 and Alexis Haury ’21 were selected as Honorable Mention players.  Congratulations!

7 members of the baseball team earned All-NWOAL honors for the 2021 season.  Highlighting the list are Connar Penrod ’21, and Jude Armstrong ’23 as they were named to the 1st team!  Earning 2nd team honors were Clay Stump ’22 and Maddux Chamberlin ’21.  Cameron Cantu ’21, Sam Krasula ’21 and Kolton DeGroff ’21 were selected as Honorable Mention players.  Coach Trent Thomas was named the NWOAL Coach

NWOAL Track Champions – Individuals & Relays

The Wauseon track & field teams had 6 champions at the NWOAL league meet.  Four individual champions along with 2 relay championships led both the boys and girls teams to 3rd place finishes in the league.  Highlighting the list was Noah Sauber ’21 who was the champion in the 110 Meter Hurdles and the 300

OHSAA Baseball Tournament Information

The baseball team earned the #4 seed in the Archbold District and will host the Bryan Golden Bears in the sectional final round of the D-II OHSAA Baseball Tournament.  The game will take place on Friday, May 21 at 5:00 pm.  Tickets for the event will be sold online at www.ohsaa.org/tickets and will be $10

Raabe & Penrod earn the Sterling Award

Chelsie Raabe and Connar Penrod were selected by the head coaches at WHS as the Sterling Award winners for their outstanding athletic ability, leadership, and their total contribution to the Wauseon High School athletic program.  The Sterling Award has been presented annually since 1968 to the outstanding athletes at Wauseon High School.  Additionally, the two scholar-athletes

OHSAA Softball Tournament Information

The softball team earned the #2 seed in the Genoa District and will host the Perkins Pirates in the sectional final round of the D-II OHSAA Softball Tournament.  The game will take place on Friday, May 14 at 5:00 pm.  Tickets for the event will be sold online at www.ohsaa.org/tickets and will be $10 each. 

Athletic Booster Golf Outing – June 11

After a year’s hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Wauseon Athletic Booster’s Golf Outing will return in 2021.  The outing will be held on Friday, June 11, 2021 starting at 12:00 pm at Ironwood Golf Course.  If you have a team interested in playing in the outing, please complete and submit the registration form: 

Mike Ritter named NW District D-II COY by the coaches association

Earlier this year, Wauseon wrestling coach Mike Ritter was selected as the Northwest District Division II Coach of the Year by the Northwest Ohio Wrestling Coaches Association.  Congratulations to Coach Ritter on another outstanding achievement.

Marisa Seiler scores her 1000th career point

Junior Marisa Seiler scored her 1000th career point for the girls basketball program Thursday night at Patrick Henry.  Marisa becomes the 3rd member of the girls basketball 1000 point club joining Katie Griggs (1433 points) and Ashley Schrock (1115 points).  Marisa scored 344 points her freshman season, 308 points her sophomore season, and eclipsed 348

Wauseon Athletics Online Streaming Partnership

In an effort to make our athletic website a better experience for all of our fans we have created a video series showing all of the features of the site.  Many pieces of the information on the website can be difficult to find if you don’t know where to look.  This video series walks through the
