Marisa Seiler – WMTR Athlete of the Week

Sophomore girls basketball player Marisa Seiler has been named the WMTR Swanton Welding and Machining Athlete of the Week for December 6th.  Marisa’s hot start has led Wauseon to a 4-0 record to start the campaign.

All-Ohio Football teams announced

Three Wauseon football players were named to the 2019 Division IV All-Ohio Football teams by the Ohio Prep Sportswriters Association. Connar Penrod ’21 earned 2nd team All-Ohio honors at the wide receiver position. Isaac Wilson ’21 was selected to the 3rd team as a linebacker while Sean Brock ’20 earned Honorable Mention Defensive Lineman recognition. Congratulations

NWOAL Fall Scholar Athletes announced

Congratulations to the 16 fall sport senior athletes who earned NWOAL Scholar Athlete honors.  Criteria for the award is the athlete must 1) be a senior, 2) earned a varsity letter, and 3) have a minimum 3.5 accumulative GPA after six semesters.  Award winners include:   Samantha Aeschliman – Tennis Kelcy Blanchong – Volleyball Megan

New date for the HOF induction

Due to the postponement of the boys basketball game vs. Archbold scheduled for Saturday, November 30, the Wauseon Athletic Hall of Fame induction ceremony has been moved to a new date.  The ceremony will take place on Saturday, January 11, 2020 during the Wauseon v. Football Cheerleading leading the Academic Cup standings

Following the completion of the fall sports season, the Football Cheerleaders have taken the lead in the annual Varsity Academic Cup standings with an average 1st quarter GPA of 3.8944.  Six members of the squad posted a 4.0 GPA for the quarter.  They were followed closely by the Girls Cross Country team (3.7558) and the

Boys Basketball Reserved Seat and Winter Pass Information

All-NWOAL Volleyball

7 members of the girls soccer team earned All-NWOAL honors for the 2019 season.  Highlighting the list is Kadence Carroll ’22, as she was named to the 1st team!  Earning 2nd team honors were Macy Gerig ’23 and Jane Richer ’22.  Briley Rupp ’20, Amanda Wendt ’20, Rylee Vasvery ’23 and Marie Hutchinson ’22 were all selected as Honorable Mention players.  Congratulations!

5 members of the boys soccer team earned All-NWOAL honors for the 2019 season.  Highlighting the list is Easton Delgado ’21, as he was named to the 1st team!  Earning 2nd team honors were Eli Delgado ’23 and J.T. 5 members of the girls cross country team earned All-NWOAL for the 2019 season at the league meet at Bryan.  Highlighting the list is Grace Rhoades ’23, as she was the 4th finisher and earned 1st team honors!  Earning 2nd team honors is Serena Mathews ’22 and Natasha Miller ’21.  Alona Mahnke ’23 and Bailey McGuire ’21 were Honorable Mention.  Congratulations!
