Xavier Torres to compete at the State Track meet

Xavier Torres will compete in the long jump competition at the D-II State Track meet on Friday, May 31.  Xavier qualified as an at-large bid after jumping 21′ 8.25″ at the Regionals.  He will be in the first flight with the competition scheduled to begin at 9:30 am. Alisa Shelt named 2nd Team All-State

Wauseon’s Alisa Shelt was named to the Division II All-State Softball Team this week as selected by the Ohio High School Softball Coaches Association.  The 4-year varsity letter winner earned 2nd Team All-Ohio honors. Congratulations!!

Post-season NWOAL and District Softball Awards

Softball repeats as NWOAL Champions

The Wauseon softball team defeated Swanton 5-0 to claim the 2019 NWOAL Softball Championship.  The team finished 6-1 in the NWOAL.  They also won the NWOAL in 2018.  This is the 9th NWOAL softball championship for Wauseon High School and the 135th league title overall.  In the decisive game at Swanton, Macee Schang pitched a no-hitter

Three wrestlers commit to pursue college athletic careers

Wauseon High School had 3 Senior wrestlers commit to continuing their athletic careers at the next level and recently signed their letters of intent.  These athletes are: Tristan Barajas – Defiance College (NCAA D-III) – Defiance, Ohio Gavin Ritter – University of Indianapolis (NCAA D-II) – Indianapolis, Indiana Xavier Torres – Kent State University (NCAA D-I) – Kent, Ohio Congratulations!!  

Basketball Cheerleaders win the Varsity Academic Cup

The Basketball Cheerleaders have won the Varsity Academic Cup for the 2018-19 school year.  The varsity basketball cheerleaders posted an in-season average GPA of 3.7183.  All 9 varsity cheer letter winners achieved a 3.0 GPA or higher while 5 of the 9 achieved a 4.0 GPA.  The girls tennis team finished 2nd with an average of 3.6564

Ryan Scherer commits to swim at YSU
